形態特徵

• Rhizome short creeping, very loosely tufted. Culms erect from ascending base, lower half to 1/3 clothed with bladeless sheaths and leaved only above middle, 50-80 cm tall, 2-3 mm thick, 5- to 8-noded below inflorescence, internodes acutely triquetrous, becoming yellowish, smooth or slightly scabrous on angles. Basal sheaths bladeless or scale-like.
• Leaves 6-40 cm long, 4-12 mm wide, whitish green beneath; sheath 2-6 cm long, sharply 3-angled, glabrous; ligule brown, membranaceous, 1-1.5 mm long.
• Bracts leafy, surpassing inflorescence, sheathing at base. Spikes 4 or 7; terminal spike staminate, linear, 1.5-3 cm long, 1-1.25 mm thick, light brown or pale, peduncled; lateral spikes pistillate, cylindrical, 2-5 cm long, 4-6 mm wide, densely many-flowered, glaucous-green, peduncled.
• Pistillate glumes ovate, 2-3 mm long excluding awn, 1.2-1.5 mm wide, glabrous, pale, acute at apex, awned or awnless. Utricles erect-patent, elliptic, obtusely trigonous, 3-3.75 mm long, 1.5-1.7 mm wide, nearly nerveless except for 2 costas, cinnamon-greenish at maturity, wholly densely pubescent with spreading white rough hairs, beak ca. 1 mm long, bicentate. Achenes tightly inclosed, elliptic, triquetrous, 2-2.2 mm long, 1.2 mm wide, brown; style-base bulbose; stigmas 3.
